The intent of this case study was to research the history and current trends of the healthcare industry, and in turn, propose an innovative solution to create value for its stakeholders. In a future forecast study, I've predicted that personal 3D printers will be in the homes of today's average consumers. There is an opportunity to tap into this forecast and leverage its potential by creating a software to bridge the gap between regulated healthcare and personal management. preFAB is a digital app that connects to 3D printers to print prescription drugs and medicine. Offering a personalized and convenient healthcare experience, preFAB users would play an active role in keeping track of their own health. The app would monitor and track one's health and would have the ability to pair with wearable devices.
